I am a mother of two young boys. I believe there is no other job more Important in the world than being a parent. Ensuring a safe and supported future for our children is the reason I became politically activated. I have a BSc. In Adult Nursing and have spent the vast portion of my career in Care of the Elderly. I have many years experience in Management in the Private Sector. I now work for a charity based organisation who supports our Elderly Co-hort and their families in their golden years. I have a huge affinity towards the more vulnerable members of our society, children, people with disabilities and the Elderly. I strive to support them, not only through my career but also on a day to day basis.
I come from a large family and I am the eldest of 6 Children. We are all very close. My mother is a Nurse and my Father was in construction before his retirement. I am very lucky to still have my maternal grandparents with us. They are very central to our entire family. I have siblings serving in the Irish Defence Forces, and they are passionate about what they do. I am incredibly proud of them, and I witness first hand the selfless sacrifices they make when duty calls. Some of my hobbies include writing. I write poetry and children’s stories. I am in the process of publishing a Christmas Story for children. I also love listening to music, I play a little bit of guitar and bodhran, not enough to say I am much good – but I try. I also love family walks in the Cooley mountains and days exploring nature with our family dog Clarke (aka Super dog)
