Everybody loves a picnic and even more so when it’s taking place as the last hurrah before school returns!
Aontú Cllr for Fingal, Ellen Troy, is bringing the Parishes of Castleknock, Porterstown and Laurel Lodge together on the 30th of August for a community picnic to be held on the green in Auburn Avenue, Castleknock.
Cllr Troy says
“It’s going to be a marvellous day. We’ll have music, singing, games, face painting, not to mention some gorgeous goodies to eat.
It will be a lovely opportunity for people to meet, share food and conversation, have fun, relax and enjoy good times in a relaxed, happy atmosphere.
It’s for children and adults too of course and there will be games for both which is always fun.
All we ask is that people bring their own picnic; we’ll provide the rest—the drinks, the ice cream, and the entertainment.
The marvellous Blanchardstown Brass Band will play on the day, and it promises to be a lovely ,happy day where people can forget about ‘back to school’ for a few hours.
I would urge people to come along between 2 and 5pm—don’t miss it, it will be great craic!”
