We, the undersigned, demand that the Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, and Independent government resign.

This government has lost their democratic legitimacy.  According to polls, the combined support of FF and FG has shrunk to 30%, the lowest ever. The decisions of this government are doing damage to the livelihoods of the people of Ireland. Families are struggling to make ends meet in a rip off Ireland, in large part the government’s making.

The Cost-of-Living Crisis has been driven by waste and excessive carbon taxes. Ireland has the highest electricity prices in the whole world. €45 of every €100 petrol fill goes to the government in tax. 500,000 electricity and gas accounts are in arrears. Road tolls and bus fares are being increased. 17,885 people are living in emergency accommodation, yet the government is increasing the number of work and student visas into the country. Hospital waiting lists have topped 1 million people, and many young nurses cannot afford to live in Ireland.

Meanwhile, the government is incinerating billions of euros of taxpayers’ money on projects such as the National Children’s Hospital. IFAC have claimed that there are billions of euros of departmental overspend and waste each year. Taxpayers’ money is being spent on nonsense campaigns cautioning children on granny hugging, promoting gender ideology and scaremongering about tradwives – telling parents who cannot afford to work at home to raise their children not to listen to so-called tradwives.

There is no thought, no planning and no regard for taxpayer’s money, at a time when working households are counting every penny. We are apparently a wealthy country, yet we have less to show for it than ever. We were supposed to have a Metro up and running 10 years ago, for €4 billion. Now it’s stalled and will cost at least four times that, whenever it is actually built. They are squandering money on everything from the Iarnród Éireann failed IT system, which ended up being a €50million write-off; to a fleet of electric buses costing €60m left unused because they have no where to charge them, costing millions more in storage. The school meals programme is spending €320,000 every school day on uneaten meals.

This government is out of support, time, and ideas. They must go and an election must be called.
