O’Dowd condemns Drogheda IPAS arson attack

Nov 3, 2025

The appalling incident in which an accelerant was used during an arson attack on an IPAS Centre in Drogheda was an ugly and highly dangerous attack, which could have proved fatal.

That’s according to Aontú Louth Rep. Michael O Dowd, who says

“I am absolutely appalled and deeply saddened by the recent arson attack in Drogheda .

Any right-thinking person would condemn this incident unequivocally.

Acts of wanton violence or intimidation have no place whatsoever in our town.

I urge anybody with any information that could assist An Garda Síochána in their investigation to come forward. It’s vital that those responsible are brought to justice and vital that our community stands together against this horrendous incident.

This criminal and heinous act has nothing at all to do with the genuine concerns many people have about how national issues such as Immigration and Housing are being managed.

Drogheda has always a town of strong community and decent people, and I urge people to respond to this terrible incident calmy and in a dignified manner  and work together in a  respectful and unified manner , working together for real solutions that will strengthen our community
