Finian Toomey from Lower Kileens, Blarney, is married to Margaret and they have 3 children. He has been a voluntary community activist in the area for the past 25 years. As an active member of the local community association he has spearheaded many activities to improve the area and ensure that it is safe and litter free, including regular clean-ups and litter disposal operations.
In the wider community, he was the driving force behind the development of the Mallow Auto-grass world-class racing circuit in the Ballyhoura area of North Cork. Finian is very involved in fundraising for Marymount Hospital and he has organised a number of rallycross events at the Cork City Council Amenity park developed at the old land-field site near the Airport Roundabout. These have raised over €40,000 for the charity.
