Cllr. Ellen Troy, Dublin West

Ellen is married to Declan and they have four adult children. She was born in Edinburgh of Irish parents and has lived in Castleknock for 40 years.

Ellen has campaigned on education issues, having been on the committee for the building of Castleknock Community College and having served on St. Brigid’s N.S. PTA and Board of Management and on Mount Sackville Secondary School PTA. She has served on the Parish Pastoral Council of her local church, and has set up and led the Family Group and Choir for over 20 years. Ellen is secretary of the Pines, Hadleigh and Beechpark Lawn Neighbourhood Watch Group, and her family have a long time involvement with St Brigid’s GAA Club and are passionate supporters of other local sporting groups.

Ellen has been a longstanding community activist, supporting countless local initiatives across the wider Dublin 15 area. She was recently elected to Fingal County Council on her first attempt, demonstrating the work Aontú has been engaging in and their unwavering work on the ground in these communities. Ellen has a strong sense of social justice and is dedicated to serving the people of Dublin West in the face of a government that has ravaged public services and stripped communities of their ambitions for the future.
