The Aontú leader said the the vote to remove the triple lock “puts the Government in direct conflict with the democratic decisions of the people of this country.”
The bill to remove it passed second stage in the Dáil last night by a margin after much opposition.
“This bill is one of the most shocking attacks on Irish democracy I’ve ever seen. Irish neutrality is one of the most important foreign policies of this country.
“The EU has morphed from a peace project to one that is openly preparing for war. The Government is actively seeking to outsource foreign and military policy to the EU.
“The EU is pushing hard for an EU army. The hawks are circling and Micheal martin is bending the knee.
The Meath West TD said: “Irish people will have very little say over the decisions that are made. Military blocks make military decisions based on their own interests and economic objectives.”
