Tóibin calls on backbenchers to vote against neutrality bill, saying: “stand up for the triple lock.”

Oct 20, 2026

The Aontú leader said: “There is a major effort by this Government to delete Irish neutrality in this bill being brought forward this week.

“Micheal Martin has gutted the last vestiges of ideology from the core of Fianna Fail over the last number of years.
“There are some backbench TDs for whom neutrality is very important. I would appeal to them not to roll over on the Triple Lock, stand up for Irish neutrality and stand up for that core value in Fianna Fail.”
