Mona Stromsoe is a passionate advocate for East Cork and a dedicated voice for the communities of Midleton and the surrounding areas. Deeply committed to the region she calls home, Mona has worked tirelessly to highlight the need for improved infrastructure, stronger flood protection measures, and better investment in local services. She has been a strong campaigner for real flood defences across East Cork, believing that everyone has a right to feel safe in their homes and that no family or business should have to live with the fear and uncertainty that flooding brings. Mona also supports investment in rail infrastructure, including re-instating the railway from Midleton to Youghal and onwards to Waterford, and the south-east, recognising the economic and environmental benefits such connectivity can bring to local communities and businesses.
A passionate supporter of families, Mona has highlighted the challenges facing parents and childcare providers, particularly the shortage of childcare places and the financial pressures experienced by families. She believes that accessible childcare, quality healthcare, affordable housing, and support for carers are essential building blocks of thriving communities.
Mona is equally committed to protecting and promoting Ireland’s cultural heritage. She values the Irish language, local traditions, music, history, and community identity, and believes these should be supported and celebrated for future generations.
Known for her determination, integrity, and strong work ethic, Mona is dedicated to listening to local people and delivering practical solutions to the issues affecting everyday life. Her focus remains on supporting families, improving infrastructure, strengthening communities, and ensuring that East Cork continues to grow and prosper for future generations
