Shane Hogan is a new voice in local politics. Shane is a devoted husband and father. He has been a secondary school teacher for 18 years. Previously, Shane worked for 13 years as a consultant electrical engineer. He has decided to become politically active in response to the groupthink sweeping Irish politics. Shane is first and foremost a family man with a determination to help our community and he is committed to supporting the people of rural Limerick. Shane holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering and has worked as an electrical consulting engineer in the construction industry in Britain, Russia and Ireland. He would bring to Limerick City and County Council considerable experience in the field of construction, associated cost management and environmental impact assessments. Shane has a particular interest in the area of environmental sustainability and climate change and sees exciting opportunities ahead within the agricultural sector for various forms of energy farming. Shane is a committed teacher of
Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Technical Drawing and Religion at CBS Secondary School in Charleville, County Cork. He is committed to the education of our young people. He currently serves as Religious Education co-ordinator which includes the organisation of pilgrimages and retreats throughout the school year groups. Shane supports a genuinely pluralist education system.
