Michael Ryan has been Principal Teacher of Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary School, Janesboro since 2007. Michael is married to Teresa and has five grown up children. Michael has worked hard to develop the school and to support the surrounding communities in every way. He has been a community activist in his native Pallasgrean for over 40 years; a member of the Community Council which built the Community Centre and is now Chairman of the Community Council which has recently provided a new playground. He served as Oifigeach na Gaeilge/ Scór on Limerick GAA County Board from 2011 to 2016. As chairperson of the Castleconnell/Ahane/ Herbertstown branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann from 2010 to 2014, Michael played an active role in organising Fleadh Cheoil Luimní on three occasions. As a father of a grown-up daughter with an intellectual disability, Michael is strongly committed to pushing for proper services for those with disabilities, especially as their parents grow older. Michael has shown himself to be a committed and hard-working community activist over the years and is ready to bring that dedication to bear for all the people of Limerick City East.
