Cllr Emmet Doyle: Ballyarnett Country Park Remedial Works Delivered
Aontú Cllr for Derry has welcomed the finalising of remedial works in Ballyarnett Country Park following his motion at Council and work alongside Council officers.
Cllr Doyle:
“Ballyarnett Country Park is much loved throughout the outer North area and I have been engaging with park users, residents and Council in recent months arising from the need to address long term structural and aesthetic issues we identified.
I’m delighted that since then, Council has spent £20,000 on fixing potholes, addressing car parking and repairing a wall at Cornshell Fields. A further £200k of works have been identified including repair to stairways, drainage and footpaths.
In the coming weeks, the watercourse in the park will be cleared of debris adding to the parks appeal which I am grateful to officers for, and an expert has been appointed to review flooding and traffic as part of the Masterplan process.
I will continue to work to see this beautiful asset brought up to the standard my constituents expect and to work on securing the remaining funding.”
