Cllr Emmet Doyle: £10K Secured for Féis Doire Cholmcille, Following Aontú Motion
Aontú Cllr for Derry Emmet Doyle has welcomed news that Council will allocate £10,000 to the centenary of Féis Doire Cholmcille following a motion he proposed recently.
Cllr Doyle said:
“I am delighted that Council has been able to allocate £10,000 to assist in funding the Feis in its centenary year which was approved by Council today.
I have been in contact with the committee over recent months and had proposed a motion to ensure the Feis wouldn’t miss out on funding given its prominence in the area and the celebration of 100 years which Councillors unanimously backed.
This funding will contribute to the committee being able to move forward with their ambitious programme to celebrate a momentous history which has involved many thousands of local people and boosted the careers of many household names.”
