Ciarán Hogan

Wicklow Constituency

Ciarán Hogan is an entrepreneur with two successful businesses in Dublin, and a background in commercial piloting.

A dedicated husband and father to two girls, Ciarán is dedicated to making Ireland safe, prosperous, clean and restoring high trust in society and our government. The most basic drive for all parents is to give to their children a better world than they themselves had. Our current government is failing us.

Ciarán became politically active after seeing Peadar Tóibín taking a strong principled stand against establishment parties, which is a continuing source of inspiration and hope for the future of Irish politics. There are so many problems facing the people of Ireland that could and should be addressed by government and community involvement.

Among these are the lack of housing, massive health service waiting lists, poor mental health investment, crime and antisocial behaviour and the cost-of-living crisis. All of these problems are as a result of the government and could be solved with common sense and political will. The current government have proven they are unable to deliver.

Ciarán Hogan has shown ability to affect real change and be systematic in addressing issues. A vote for Ciarán and Aontú is a vote for a return to a proud Ireland, a fair and flourishing country that ensures the best for all its citizens.

Ciarán's 2024 General Election Leaflet

The Irish political system is radically broken

In Ireland the vast majority of elected representatives put a finger in the air to check which way the political wind is blowing. They have one eye on their leaders – seeking brownie points – and another eye keeping their seat safe. If elected reps shut up and do as they’re told, they are promoted; if they stand up for what they believe in, they are demoted. No wonder we have the political class we have. No wonder one point one billion euro is being buried in a hole under the National Children’s Hospital and that Stormont is in stalemate.

Throughout Ireland, many people are now afraid to say what they feel, many are afraid to respectfully engage on a range of different topics. Many feel there is a new censorship and a new political correctness in Ireland, that opposition to the establishment is being deleted.

Respectful opposition is not the enemy. Respectful opposition is a critical element of a functional democracy. Aontú will have the backbone to stand up, without fear, for you.
